Help Identifying Anemone

I picked up some live rock and this little guy came along I guess.

Is it good or bad? Wasn't planning on having an anemone yet[emoji23]

Could possibly be a majano or aiptasia.

That's what I've heard. So probably just take it out and get an anemone that I know won't harm my softies?

Looks like curlique anemone to me... They are relatively safe if you want to keep them but they can be aggressive to corals and fish. Just be careful of coral placement. Also, they don't tend to move that much as other anemones.

Ah I suppose the tentacles look different, hard to tell from picture.

I would usually say these hitchhikers are mojano or aiptasia, but the curly tentacles are not what you'd see normally.

You might be ok. I would try to get rid of them just in case, but that's just me.

Ok. Thanks for all the responses! I went in and talked to my LFS and they actually said it was a curly and knew exactly what tank I got it out of. So I think I'm going to let it go for awhile. If it starts to hassle my softies, it will be executed by lethal injection.

Yeah, curlique, not aiptasia, though they are closely related. Curliques get much larger than aiptasia and don't become pests.

Curlicues are great and often have commensual shrimp living with them in the wild.
