Help - Jebao Slave and Master Questions (problems)

Hey gang!

I am new to using Jebao equipment and when I was at my local reef store they were recommended to me. My current setup is a 48Gal Tall.

I purchased via recommendation the Jebao SW-8 (Master) and an SW-4 (slave)

When using the controller for the master I have changed the preset wave patterns. From what I can understand from the manual the Slave should change automatically when changes are made to the master?

What I am seeing is the slave stays set to what ever default it picked when I turned it on. Feed mode when pressed on the master does not turn off the slave and night mode turns off the master but not the slave.

Am I doing something wrong or are these simply not working as intended?

Any help is appreciated.

IMO.. Forget slave/master.. Just set them up independently..
Slave/master never stayed "synced" for me.. They would start like they were good but X minutes later they were no longer "synced"..

Yah. I have some similar issues with 2 SW-8. They only work together for feed. As per the other options they act alone...

Do you have a good recommendation for set up for each to work together? my hope was to use the slave/master on W2 in Sine Mode about 3 clicks up for speed.

Should I just run both in this mode getting rid of slave and master?

Thank you for your opinion btw!!

In reality people have been maintaining successful aquariums for decades without the need for "wave" functions..
So I recommend you set it to whatever you like and whatever provides the best flow visually based on what you see sitting there in front of the tank..

Its really about watching to make sure you aren't blowing sand around and there can be a point where you start to see "poop",etc.. just lift up right off the sand bed to keep it in suspension vs just laying there to rot.. Thats the "sweet spot" IMO..
