I have had my tank for three months and it looks great, the tank is 15 years old and I found a leak tonight..have to get a new one tomorrow. How should I transfers the tanks? Please help
Personally, i'd get an even bigger tank than the one you got if at all possible. Like maybe a 40? (i love my 40 breeder )
Reason being is you've got enough rock (filtration) for a bit bigger tank (up to about 50g)
As for trasferring...i'd transfer everything but the sand. I'd try to get new sand if possible, because when you transfer sand, you can kick up a small spike that might be harmful, but if you're ready to do water changes, shouldnt matter anyways.
I'd just put all the livestock you can in containers or something, switch the rock over (after putting in old or new sand..) and then start accimating live stock (i'm assuming you've lost a bit of water by now, at which point you'll be using a lot of new water...if you hadnt lost water, i personaly wouldnt bother w/acclimation)
Got a 37 gallon High Cube, transfered everything yesterday, water is good after 24 hours all zero's ph 8.3, . Corals look good and the live stock is doing thier job:rolleye1:
