I was looking at my tank this morning and noticed there are very small "things" on the glass. They are white in color and shaped like a pinwheel. They don't move and are about the size of pencil lead. I can't get a good picture to post but maybe someone has an idea of what they are. Any help would be great. Thanks

they look like the pic in the link. I guess I should have mentioned they are in my 125 predator not my reef tank. not sure where they came from all of a sudden. i have no coral or LR in that tank. I did move a xenia in there for 1 day but after the puffer broke through the divider and nibbled on it I gave up on that idea. Thanks guys

my first thought was asterina starfish...i know those suckers are always all over my glass! but those are definitely not starfish!

nutting really to sort out they are harmless feather dusters and need no care and will spread through your tank.. my tank if full of them i have to scrape them off the front of the glass. they grow thick were i never clean.

Yep. What he said. :) They're beneficial filter feeders and pop up whenever/where ever there is an excess of nutrients. If you don't want them, just scrape them off.

I'll take all the filtering help I can get. I just hate ressearching on the internet sometimes. You never know what to listen to and what not.
