hey guys I am having a hard time deciding on a new tank..
my new 40br build started leaking from the bulk head. and I have a good couple of months so I might treat myself to a new tank setup.

this build is going to focus on grogs, sponges and LPS.

the requirements :
I love BIG tanks however I just move to much for anything to big.
I generally like length but am now considering a cubeish tank.
I would like to get a nice set up that can stay with me for years to come.
I would like to go rimless but it's not a must. but I am leaning that way...

SC aquariums: right now I am leaning torwds one of these.
a 75 gallon 36"x 24x" 20" starphire 12mm glass no 100% sure the price on this one.
a 90 gallon 36" x 24" 24 starphire 12mm glass $799
so there cube kinda. the buils quality is great and the CS is great as well.

next up on the list of possibilities..
deep blue professional 57 rimless edge
36X 18x 20 around $350ish

mariland 93 cube:
30x 30 X 26 $536 prob. my least fav. option

coralVue 48 rimless ( just found these tanks dont know much about them at all)
36x 18x 18 with there internal overflow $314

Im fusion nuvo 30L $350 I like this one for the ease of moving.
36x15x13 and my new BML light would light it really well.

JBJ 45 gallon rimless 8mm glass
26.5"X 21x 19 $400
the ease of moving this sound nice. not sure on the bent glass + alot of mixed reviews. but its an idea

CAD lights https://www.cadlights.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=61_68&products_id=30275SAIO
with wood stand $1300
36x24x20 just an crazy idea. I have heard alot of very mix and not so good reviews from cad lights.
there 68Gallon versa tank looks interesting...

ELSO is not in my price range. :(
so let the fun begin and help me pick a tank!

also I would like to build a nice stand with the 80/20 T slot. guessing it will run around 250 to 300.
just playing with ideas... feedback is always well come.

I currently have a deep blue 80 gallon rimless and love it. I would stay away from marineland, just seen so much press about them having failures. Although I am sure in a quality defect standpoint, the defects are slim to none, but still to be noted. My brother has a JBJ and likes it very much. You have a good size range on there are you going for specific livestock that may play a larger role?

I have the deep blue 60 rimless and love it, but the 80 has a little more depth, great tanks/stands

Have SC Aquarium system and I have loved the experience with them thus far! Steve is a great person to work with and I had various dealings with him. I had questions due to a few things not being well explained on the site and they were all answered via email or phone. When the set up was delivered the shipping company had damaged one portion of the canopy and Steve was great about getting things moved so I have it fixed no questions asked. I can't complain about the price for what I got either.

I would avoid CAD light because I read more bad than good in terms of customer service when I was looking for a PNP system. From what I gathered in back story, CAD and SC were one and split due to differences. They have about the same product but the good customer service went with SC. Just what I took from it. I had absolutely no issues with any piece of equipment that I was provided and will most certainly work with Steve and SC again in the future.

^ yeah I have been emailing with Steve a lil. so far CS is pretty good. just waiting on some pics of the 75.

yeah I saw the 80 its look sweet. glad to know ppl are like the deep blue tanks. its differently very high on the list.

as of right now its between these 3 tanks:
the 57 rimless from deep blue
or the 75 or 90 same dems. (the 90 is 4" higher) from SC aquariums.

the deep blue is about half the price of the sc tanks.

but i think if go with the 90 that a good size tank and be a nice balance between large and moveable for long term reefing.

I recently received my SCA 150g. That tank exceeded all of my expectation. I think they actually improved the quality even farther with these recent batch of tanks. Steve is awesome to deal with, I have gotten a response from him on a sunday.

I tried to contact DeepBlue support when I was considering their edge 75g. I never got a response, I don;t think they have an actually customer support department. Read reviews, there is a reason their tanks cost 350 bucks.

In the end you get what you pay for.

oh man I SOOOO want the 150 :/ but after giving away a 240 years ago because I could not take it to the new place or sale it, I somehow have to hold off on the big tanks.

but yeah i am 98% percent sure I am going with SC aquariums.

I would look at a 24x24x24 cube in acrylic. If you move a lot the tank is light and a size you can place anywhere.

good thought but I think I need at lest a 3'er
if I have to hire help so be it. but at the same time I think I can fit it just about anywhere.
