help me stock a 120

My 120 is now up and running. I have a DSB and a 40g sump/return/fuge. Any suggestions on a fish stocking list would be appreciated. So far, I only have a CUC. It will be a mixed reef.

Do you want the tank to be peaceful or semi-aggresive?
Peaceful fish include:
firefish, royal grammas, yellowheaded jawfish, & chromis (not a complete list, just to give you an idea).

Semi-Agressive:
anthias, tangs, genicanthus angels, certain triggers, hawkfish, &clownfish (not a complete list)

As a rough estimate, have no more than 60" of fish in the tank, less would be better.

I may go semi-agg. I would really like a trigger, but i'm not sure it would fit into the scheme of things. I don't want too heavy of a bioload from fish. Mainley going to be a coral tank.

If it's a 4' 120, the only "reef safe" triggers will be blue throats or crosshatch. IMO, both need a longer tank for swimming, and will be too active for this sized tank.

Longnose Hawkfish, 6-line wrasse (or manderin) are some others I'm intrested in. Anyone have suggestions on a showfish or others?

I would start looking at fish online to get an idea of what you like. Make up a wish list then start narrowing it down.

If it were me I would get a pair of percula clowns, a blenny, a goby, a black cap basslet, a smaller tang, a coral beauty(or flame angel), and maybe 1 or 2 chromis.

The hawkfish is nice, but cant be mixed with certain inverts like shrimp.

The mandarin is a great fish, but needs a fully established tank in order to survive. About a year or so is a good length of time to wait before adding one.

current inhabitants
yellow stripe clingfish
long spine urchin
pep shrimps
sally crab
snails, etc..

Wish list
Longnose hawkfish
6-line wrasse or manderin
orange line chromis

Showfish = White cheek tang or blue throat trigger

Tank will be mostly Zoa's and other corals.

Just to give you an idea of what has worked for me. I have the same sized tank and I've stocked it with:

2 ocellaris clowns
1 royal gramma
1 blue regal tang
1 purple tang
1 blue throat trigger
2 blood shrimp
2 cleaner shrimp
3 peppermint shrimp
1 sand sifting star
2 serpent stars
snails and crabs

The purple tang and blue throat tigger are by far the biggest fish in there at a mere 3 inches. Everyone gets along fine. The purple tang is definitely the boos of the tank and shows it to the trigger every now and then.

To some I may be overstocked now or in the near future but I may only add a goby or jawfish. I would love a flame angel but am worried about coral nipping for the future when I upgrade my lights.

Surprisingly with only 6 fish in the tank there is more than enough color and movement. I have yellow, blue, orange, magenta, white, red and black colors moving all over the place.
