Help my blue hippo tang!

I've had my blue hippo for about 2 years now, and about two weeks ago, I noticed he wasn't swimming quite right; he always had his nose pointed down, instead of swimming level. And he wasn't eating. It gradually got worse, but I had to go away for 5 days, so I left him in the display tank. When I returned, he was laying on the sand looking dead, but still breathing. I took him out and put him in quarantine and gave him furazone (the only antibiotics I had available). He's been in there for 4 days now and hasn't gotten any better. He almost seems paralyzed; he will twitch a little bit if I touch him, but he never swims. He just lays on his side on the bottom, unable to move. I tried force feeding him some mysis tonight, but he takes it and chews it, then spits it out. I haven't observed him eating in at least two weeks.
I thought there was no hope for him, but he seems to be hanging on for so long, that it's giving some hope that he might recover if I only knew what was wrong and how to treat it. Anybody have any ideas?

Tank parameters are good. It's my 450 gallon tank with about 40 other fish in it. No other fish show any signs of stress or abnormalities. He doesn't show any external signs of problems. Color is good and no ich or visible parasites.

Sounds like a parasitic investation that has probably seriously damaged his gills. There are various parasites that would cause those symptoms: Flukes, velvet, Ich, etc. If you can't visibly see any parasites it could likely be gill flukes. If there is a golden, yellowish sheen on the fish with smaller powdery looking dots, then it is velvet( which based on your time frame could be the culprit). Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your fish will not likely recover even if treated now. You could try a FW dip as a last ditch attempt, or even Prazi-Pro if you have it, but it doesn't sound like the fish will pull through. Try to post a picture for additional suggestions. Good luck.
