Help; my Red Blastomussa is sick

As anyone knows in the reef world; almost anything red is pricy. I got a great specimen of Red Blastomussa. I read everything on optimal placement and it said put it at the bottom of the tank in decent flow. My tank is 24 inches deep and a 250W MH is overhead with some adjacent 96 W actinics. 1200 Watts of power to my tank lighting.

My water parameters are perfect. All my corals are doing great. All my fish are doing great.

What can I do to save this beauty? Is there a special food it likes? I have to do something fast or the Red Blastomussa will be dead.

Help.............

How does that add up to 1200w ?

The blasto....
Uhm...... What is wrong with it?

If you walk in to a mechanic and tell him to fix your car and nothing else he will move past you and talk to the real customers.

A picture or a significantly better description is needed.

^^ Thanks; it's a 180 gal tank - 3 250W MH and 4 96 watt actinics.

The Red Blastos have been steadily shrinking. I didn't notice it till yesterday. They don't look nearly as full as when I first put them in the tank.

The color is till OK, but they do not look like they are thriving. They are only puffing up about 1/2 as much as when I got them.

Any ideas?

You may want to shade them from the halides. IMO too much light, my wife has 15 on the bottom of her 120 lit by T5. When she tries to move them up the do not do well.

Good point, 2crazy. I originally, had them on the bottom, but in the direct light. I do have some caves in my tank where only ambient light would hit. Is that overkill?
