I have had my toadstool for around 6months now with no real problems , about 2 weeks ago it just closed up and started to shrink it has turned a bright yellow colour with a kind of pinkish head , it has detached itself from the rock it was on so i have removed it from my display tank and quarantined it . as far as i can tell 2 things could have happened , my anemone moved next to it for a while but did not actually touch it , dont no if that could have affected it , or i recently used aiptasia x to remove some aiptasia , could this have had any affect ?? , everything else is living ok , i cant understand what has happened i have tested the water and all pars are fine , is there any way of saving this poor creature or is just too late ??

Its unhappy, but my trigger for concern with leathers is black necrotic tissue. Keep water quality at least okay and decent flow and it should come back around. It's still showing polyps;).

I've never dipped leathers, but something like Coral Revive wouldn't hurt it. You'll likely end up with frags whether you frag it or it does it itself.

Hi
thanks for the advice but it was too late for this poor fellow , he crumbled away to nothing in my qt tank .
havent a clue what caused it but the lady in the aquatics store told me that my anemone is probably to blame ??
