Help needed to figure out my MP10 wet side problem

A small rock or snail somehow got into the wet side of my gen 1 MP10 at night, and now the pump doesn't work right because I cannot get the thin plate under the impeller to stay put. Hope the following images show what I'm talking about. Alex Y., or anyone else who knows about MP10, please help!

twist the main cover off the base, get the snail out, and then you should be able to snap the 3 base tabs back in place and then put main cover back on.

Thanks bmullikin1. It was a bit hard to twist off but I figure out how. Not able to snap it back in place coz it's broken. But at least I identify what needs to be replaced.
