Maybe I can get some help here.

Ok, so I have been trying to get a stand done, for my 55gal corner tank, but my dad has not had time to work with me on so I found a 30 gal cube for 100 bucks...I am think about getting simply cause I really want a bigger tank!!!! The stand is only 130.00, so my question is with regular water changes and not alot of fish, would I be ok with only maybe a protien skimmer? This tank is more simply to get me by until I can get that stand done. I plan on keeping some sps, but more LPS then anything.

Please help me out here guys!

Also I am going to be getting live rock so can just cure it in the tank until its fully cured?

HELP<HELP<HELP!!!!!!!

I've got a 20L that I'm running w/out skimmer or filter. I also do weekly water changes of little over 20%. It's mostly LPS and SPS with no problem at all. It does only have one fish--a blue eyed anthias that doesn't get overfed.

A protien skimmer and LR is all you need for filtration, you can also use activated carbon. Curing the LR in your tank is fine, I think most people prefer to do it that way. Once the cycle is complete just do a large water change.

I have been running my 40 gallon reef for over 1.5 years with nothing but LR and a skimmer for filtration. I think this is probably the norm for most people on reef central. You should be fine.
