Nikon makes excellent lenses but they are pricey.

I have the Tamron 90mm Macro and it works great.

Mine's on a D50 and it does what I need it to do. When you step up to DSLR "you" are usually the limiting factor and not the camera unless you're a professional.

Hi vthondaboi,

Did you look at the Nikon 60mm f/2.8 as well as they are near the same price range? If yes, what what the determining factor that you went with Tamro? I am debating on these two lenses at the moment but leaning more toward the Tamron.

TIA.

That'a very good price but I've never dealt with express cameras before? Anyone have experience with them?

Thanks
You wont regret getting the nikkor 105mm. It's an amazing lens.
I wouldnt buy it from expresscamera though. They have a pretty bad review. You can check with resellers.com for yourself about expresscamera.
The only place that I trust is B&Hphoto.com

I don't know what 105mm is in that kit, buy it's NOT the nikon 105, especially the 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor, that's a sweet chunk of glass, matter of fact I'm saving my pennys for one myself.

know that we got something agree anyone knows were i can get it you know the camara and that lense since is the 2nd person that tells me something bad about expresscamaras.com ???? any suggestions were to get a good deal...

B&H photo is the 'ol reliable. Course I doubt they're the cheapest guys in town ... but you know what they say ... an educated consumer ...

Clicked on that first link and from what I saw the price of the 105mm micro lens with VR is over a thousand bucks :eek1:
Check out B&H- it's under $850 on their site.
But whatever you do- check out the seller on www.resellerratings.com before you buy- especially if the price seems too good to be true.

Now you got me all confuse in the link that you provided is like for kind of 105mm 2:8 micro lense.... so what is the difference??? i guess the one i need to get is the one that has all the 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Micro bla bla bla thing more than the other ones what is the difference for me this is like looking chinesse symbols  can we talk in English please LOL

The Vr lens is the newest 'micro' lens from Nikon (micro is Nikon's way of saying macro, don't ask me why). it offers some signigficant advantages over its predesessor. Internal focusing SWM means the lens tube doesn't expand as you focus and the front element doesn't rotate, so you can use a polarizing filter (helpful to eliminate glass glare and reflections). It has a far superior coating both on the lens elements as well as the inside of the tube itself to eliminate a lot of glare and refraction inherrant to digital imaging systems. the Vibration Reduction(generation II) system (VR) isn't really as impressive as it's billed; however I like to hand-hold a lot of my macro work so every little bit helps.

So is the extra $200-250 worth it, this is a lens that you'll actually get more use out of than you think, other than the macro ability this lens offers superior sharpness and contrast at most all aperatures, you'll also notice the improved out of focus highlight areas due to the 9-bladed diaphram

wow thx for or the info... you been alot of help to me thx i apretiate that and well i should be also thankful to all also for helping me out with this ??? that i had lol... so then i think order will be done and wait until B&H have that lense in stock....

camara:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/con...s&Q=&sku=432775&is=REG&addedTroughType=search

those are the right ones ha and that is the best place to get them haaa ok... so i guess it will be waiting time ....for that lense to be in stock...lol

P.S: thx guys for all the help

you have to think about how far you want to go with it

the Tamron had excellent reviews but the new Nikon is something I haven't researched, the price is amlmost double though

not sure if you can see that difference in all honesty

if I had money to burn then yes I would have gotten a Nikon

the bigger the lens the more space you have to work with, so I'd ditch the 50-60mm and go bigger

There's nothing wrong with that combination, you'll love it if you know how to use it, or are willing to take the time to learn.

I would seriously consider, if you have the cash, buying the D70s as a kit with the 18-200 VR Zoom, between that and the macro you won't NEED another lens for quite a while.
