Help on how to chose a light

I'm starting a 40 gallon reef tank. Which brand has a good Strong LED light digital with a timer and a fan?....

I've seen good reviews on Hobbie Bug LED's, I actually will have mine tomorrow, I'm going from T5's to these LED's. They have a complete programmable sunrise/sunset effect that you can increase lighting in 30 minute increments. I found them on amazon starting at $279. Which is what I got for my 30 gallon. It's a 16" 51 LED.

i have good experience with the marsaqua led (cheap chinese led) been using it for a few months now, theres a bit thread on this forum about it, it has no timer but then theres no real need for a timer or just add a timer, you can controll the blue and white lights differently if that helps.

I have researched pretty much any and all available lighting that will work with a single light fixture over my 40b and came up with the Ocean Revive Arctic T-247-B. It sells for right around $200 but if you look around might come up with a better deal.

There are manufacturer forums here on RC further down the list of forums, you will find one for Ocean Revive, lots to read in there about this light but here is mine that was specific to the 40b. I even posted videos found online, so this will save you lots of time searching.

Here is a nice review of this light from another RC member.

The Mars Aqua or any of the 165w Chinese black boxes will not give you full coverage on a 40b. You will have dark areas of about 6" on either side of your tank. I know because I have one over my tank now. I wanted one light only for my tank, so the OR Arctic T-247-B was my choice.
