help please. anenome just died

My anenome crawled under the sand two days ago and when I uncovered it today it was dead. But it was a tiny compared to how small it got even at night. Do they shrink that much or could there be more of it in the sand? It was already decomposing so I can't really tell if it was all there or not.

Id do a little search to make sure you got it all, it could really cloud up the tank and make perimeters go crazy

They are mostly water, so it's possible it shrank up that much after dying. I'd say do some 10% or so water changes for several days and put in some fresh carbon just in case though. Sorry you lost it.

Thanks. I have a carbon filter I have never used. Can I just drop it in my sump? It's made to slide into bio filtration.

Should be fine, just be sure to give it a good rinse in RO water first, until it rinses clear, so it doesn't put carbon dust in your water.
