i just notice my anemone has been crushed by a 5lbs. rock.i removed the rock to find it detached from to sandbed and shrivled up.what do i do.do i turn on my lights to help it atach it self or just let it be.

How bad is he damaged? If the foot isn't torn, i would just leave the lights out and let it rest over night.

Hey Mike, sorry to hear about your nem.

There's a good chance it'll recover just fine. I'd leave the lights off for a day or so. Lessen the stress.

Let us know what happens. Good luck.

Despite their reputation for being very fragile creatures, anemones are pretty resiliant to physical harm. In the wild, they get crushed and torn all the time and they do fine. They just can't take any type of chemical insult (ammonia, nitrite, ect).

Just leave it be, keep your tank parameters in check, watch your pump intakes as it may decide to wander and find a new home so you don't want it sucked up into one.

Keep lights on as it can use the photo energy.

Hope this helps.
