Help Please!!!

Having some troubles with the SPS in my tank. My levels are not at the greatest, and I have been combatting that, but lately things have seemed to tank. My levels have been a little off for a while, but recently it got really bad. I just installed a Phosphate reactor, and thats when it seemed like my corals were dying off. I have a 250w hqi over a 40g tank. Here are my levels and I have some pics below.

Alk 2.2ppm
Phos .1ppm
Mag 1000ppm
Amm .25ppm
Nitrate 25ppm
Salinity .027
Calcium 420
PH 8.4

all the white was red last night

used to be green a week ago

our pink millis are turning green...and we are stumped what to do..we are working on the levels, but not sure what to combat first

how often you doing your water changes?

right now every couple days...our levels were basically minimal before, we were just having a problem balancing PH/ALK/CALC...but now that things are dying, everything is spiking. Im doing changes as fast as my RO can make water now.

I experienced similar issues when I started running my Phosban with GFO. Things weren't dying off like yours, but they were definitely not happy....and on their way to death. I shut off my phosban reactor and things went back to normal in a couple days.

I later found out from other fellow reefers that I might have been using too much GFO. I just filled the reactor up most of the way. Most people I've talked to are only running like 1/4 full with GFO.

I emptied out the reactor till only 1/4 full and fired it up. Been fine since. I'm not exactly sure why that would have caused the issues since it was first time I ever used GFO. But if anyone can offer ideas, that would be appreciated.

From what I hear GFO is very good at what it does and if you had phosphate in your tank and it was quickly removed it could cause bad things to happen. Phosphate is something you gradually want to remove from the system, not all at once.

Thanks....if GFO is very good at what it does....that makes sense. I figured it would take time and not work so quickly.

Also, you don't mention what your tempature is...I've had die off if the temp got too high.
