I'm following the instructions and no matter what I do, it immediately overflows. Any suggestions?

I used RO water the first time. Maybe I should use salt water, just thinking

Is there a sponge in the skimmer if so remove it

Are you kinking the air hose until water gets to just below the collection cup ?

Watch your water level in relation to the skimmer return pipe. If the return pipe is too far down into your tank, the water trying to return to your tank needs to overcome the significant pressure exerted by the air bubble trapped in the pipe. Lowering your water level or shortening the pipe will help. Check youtube for some mods.
