Help Purple urchins spikes eaten off

Ok well last night we saw are chocolate chip starfish on top of our purple urchin, then suddenly realized it was starting to eat the spikes. Tonight we just came home to find the starfish wrapped all the way around the urchin, after separating the 2 with a chop stick, i found about a half dollar section on the back of the urchin completely void of all spines. Will the urchin recover from this? or do we need to try to get him in a separate tank all alone to recover for a couple weeks. The starfish has been in the tank since 3/3/10 and the urchin since 3/12/10 and we've had no other issues, we feed both a spot of shrimp about twice a week.

The urchin should probably recover if its still moving around and acting healthy. I would remove the star fish altogether if the urchin means anything to you, because its probably only a matter of time before the star takes down your urchin.
