Help - Should I remove this coral?

Put it in a few days ago like this:

Came home today to find my clown fish eating the flesh:

Wasn't sure if it was a gonner or not, but figured it was.

It looks pretty bad but you could try fragging the tips that still have tissue.

Since I took that a little bit ago, the remainder is falling off. I'm going to pull it out.

What would cause my clown to decide to eat that?

If it was already dead and had algae on it would be my guess

Sorry it didn't make it.

I've only kept one clownfish in the past but I did have it for around three years. Mine never picked at any of the live corals, I did see it occasionally picking something off of the liverock but that's about it.

Yeah, this one has never bothered any corals before. He has attacked my arm a few times though. LOL

The coral was probably already dead and he was just picking off the dead flesh. Everything else that I got the same time as this one is doing great I think, so must just be a fluke on this one.

when clown decide they don't like something, they destroy it! Mine won't let any feather dusters live near THEIR torch coral
