This is going t be a long post, sorry.
Is it an internal parasite? And can internal parasites be transfered from one fish to another?
It all started when I bought a yellow watchman goby from petco ( Will never buy from them again) about a year ago. He was in the tank doing fine then a couple of weeks later he started twitching and swimming all over the place and crashing into everything and then about a minute later he died.
The whole tank was fine for a while. Then I bought a sixline wrasse and he swim around and twitch sometimes. He also died.
The tank did fine for a while again. Then i bought a blenny and when I first put him in the tank he was doing great. Then he started to twitch sometimes while swimming. He would also dive all the way to the bottom of the tank and crash into the sand and swim upwards really fast and go down and crash again. It looked like he was sratching. Then he got worse, he would be perched on the rocks and start twitching like crazy and then go diving into the the sand again. He also died.
Then I found a mandarin goby at a LFS that was eating frozen foods. I had him for about 3 days and he was doing fine and on the 3rd day he stayed in the sand and his forehead was turning white and he started twitching a lot and swimming across the sand super fast and then he died about 5 minutes later. The only time I saw the mandarin twitch was right before he died.
Now I bought a pair of baby onyx clowns and the smallest one of them was twitching a little bit the first day in the tank. I have only seen it twitch twice so far and that was for a little bit, but since they are small I am really scared that they will be infected and die.
I also have a fairy wrasse that has twitched a little bit over the past 3 days I have had him. The wasse also has a couple of spots of ich but I will be feeding food with garlic to try to get rid of it.
Could ich cause them to twitch? Could they be trying to get the ich off of their body by twitching?
And would running ozone kill ich when it's in the free floating stage?
thanks A LOT in advance for the help.
