Here is a post I made on TCMAS, I am desperately trying to find help for this coral..
A few months ago I decided to try to bring a dwindling hydnophora back to health. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing much improvement at all and have recently noticed some significant tissue recession. It is too tight to the skeleton to eat anything and I haven't seen the polyps extend since.. well, I don't remember. In my 29 gallon I run a Nova Extreme SLR T-5 light fixture with one actinic and one daylight bulb, as well as a cool white LED strip. My parameters are alright, I just had them tested and all checked out fine except for the alkalinity, which was low at 7dkh. I'm dosing 1 cap of Seachem Carbonate per week trying to bring alkalinity back up. Otherwise, I don't know. I don't want to see this coral die, as I have seen how beautiful it can be. I am hoping to find someone who can take care of this coral, bring it back to health and someday receive a frag from the thriving colony. I don't know how this Frag It Forward thing usually works, but I do know I want the best possible home for this coral that I have grown attached to.
Here is a photo of her. Forgive the quality, it's a phone picture. I can get better quality photos if requested.
