I have a 300g acrylic tank and i dropped the drill inside, a small chunk about 1/2 in chipped out the botton, (not all the way threw) but there is a small crack at the bottom of the chunk that is leaking. Obviuosly this tank is empty i was doing a water test thats when i noticed it leaking. WILL weld-on solve this issue? Silicone? Anyone ever fix a issue like this??? please help...

Since it is on the bottom you can buy a small piece of acrylic and solvent and weld the new piece over the crack. Should be as strong or stronger than the normal seams in the tank. Cover the repair with sand and Live rock.

You'll have to contact a plastic supply house to figure out what solvent to use.

I had a small 2-3" crack in my 125, where the side meets the bottom. Used my dremel with a cut off disk and made a 1/16 x 1/16 trough 3 1/2" long right on the seam, than filled it Weld-on #4,(like water),hoping it would flow down into the crack. It did and it is sealed just fine,it's been 5 yrs.
