Hello everyone. I already had a saltwater tank in the past but it was a mess. I am now starting a new saltwater tank and taking it slow. It is 60l which is about 15-18 gallons and I would like some stocking suggestions for it.

Inverts/CUC:
- 1 Coral Banded Shrimp
- 2-3 electric blue hermit crabs
- a few Nassarius and Turbo snails
- Porcelain anemone crab?
- 1-2 feather duster

Fish:
- goby/shrimp pair
- other fish that are mid/top active swimmers

Also I want it to be a reef tank so I was planning on corals such as:
- Hammer coral
- Torch coral
- Xenia
- brain coral?
- tube anemone
- green star polyps

It is hard for me to find some species so generally species from the Indo Pacific area would be ideal as that is mostly what I can find.

Welcome to RC!

I have a few thoughts. Coral Banded Shrimp are highly predatory and probably worse in a smaller tank. Consider anther shrimp, like a Peppermint, which will keep aiptasia anemones at bay.

I'd suggest choosing hermits OR snails-not both. Hermits kill snails for their shells. Snails are better algae eaters. Hermits bail on algae control, once they get a taste of fish food.

For a mid/top swimmer, take a look at the smaller Cardinal fish species. These fish aren't super active swimmers, so they won't mind a smaller tank. A damsel fish would likely become a terror in that size tank.

Be careful with Xenia and Green Star Polyps. They both can overrun tanks pretty quickly, and once they do, you're looking at a full tank breakdown.

Good luck with your new tank!
