I hope someone can help me. We set up a marine tank about 3months ago. all has been going great. We have 2 clown fish, 1 Yellow tang, 1 Bi-colour Angel and a Spiny box fish plus one hardy invert coral.
About 2 weeks ago, the spiny got white spot. I have treated the tank with Oodinex as I was told this was the safe thing for the invert. It didnt have much effect. The Spiny then got what I think is pop eye. I fresh dipped him and treated the tank again. The bi-colour then got red patches at the base of his fins. Again the treatment has not appeared to work.
This morning, I found my bi-colour dead and the spiny really not very well, not eating and his eyes even worse although the white spot a little better. My yellow tang is very red around all fins.
I went to the shop and purchase an isolation tank for the tang and spiny and have added Myxazin but the Spiny seems to be getting worse and looks like he is dying. He is now just floating about - he can't seem to swim and just gets caried away with water and nose dives the sand!:sad2:
could someone give me some advice or help to try and save him. Also I had read that spiny boxfish release toxins - is this as they are dying or once they die. I dont want to posion the tang who is eating ok at the moment but just is very red in places.
