Help with 40 breeder plumbing!

I'm setting up a 40 breeder with a gl*******s 700gph overflow. I'll have one return pump but should I but the overflow box in the center and have two 3/4in returns? Or but the overflow on the left and have one 3/4 in return? I have all the necessary plumbing for one return right now but I am willing to buy extra if 2 returns are really worth it. Also I will be using 2 jabeo pp4's and my return pump is a eheim compact+ 3000.

It really doesn't matter in the end. I have run 40 Breeders with one return and with two returns. The two returns was nice but I don't think it made the tank any better if that makes sense.

Will two returns vs one return help eliminate dead spots or would it not make any difference since I will be using two pp4's

They won't make much difference when talking about dead spots. There just isn't enough flow coming out to do much. Assuming your going the durso drain method, how large is the hole for your drain line (man I had to be careful on my phrasing)? In my experience, pushing that many gph in a standard 1" pipe is very hard to keep quiet. In a tank that size you really only need about half of that horsepower
