Hey everyone so I have a 75 gallon tank and I have the opportunity to get some really cool fish (mated pair of flame wrasses). The problem is I don't have a lid on the tank and I dont want them to jump out. I tried egg crate and it just looked bad and an obvious amount of light wasn't making it past the crate. So does anyone have any info on how to build like a screen lid here is some pictures of the top of the tank with the light.

I belive BRS carries 1/2'' and 1/4 '' mesh netting. I have read many ppl have used this with success. Yor local box store will stock plastic white trim. It will come in various sizes. I would use this for the frame. You could use fishing line to sew it around the frame.
I myself have not done this. It is just an idea I had, to do on my tank. I had thought about adding a fish that is considered a jumper.

go to lowes or other hardware place and in lawn and gargen thet have bird netting for 5 bucks then go to screens in hardware and buy the frame material cut to length snap together and mount the screen

Do you really think white eggcrate blocks that much light? I'm not trying to be a smart @$$, I have it over my 65, and it worked, but I guess I never really thought about how much light it blocks.

It was really noticeable. It created a glare over the egg crate too. I would have kept it, but it just look horrible. I think the screen top with be a much more attractive option
