Help With Acrylic

Hello all hope there is some one out there that can help me with this. My dad has had this table in the basment with a chemical hood overit that he got from work, the hood was made of plastic of some kind I thinks it is acrylic but not sure how to tell if it can be used for building a sump with or not. Any Ideas on how to tell would be great thanks all.

the chances are its extruded acrylic. and you don't want to use that for a sump. also if its been around chemical fumes it could leach toxins into the water from the acrylic. I don't recommend using that at all.
