I have a pyramid shaped lump, looks pretty much like a sponge, maybe an inch high. the catch is, it has little orange balls hanging off it by very very fine threads. They never retract like an an anenome would, they just blow around like little lint balls. I've been looking for sponges that would match but haven't found anything close. Sorry I can't get a pic but any thoughts of where to look would be appreciated. Thanks!

OK, I will take your word on that one, but little orange balls ??? My gosh man, this is a family friendly board....I just got off the phone with Capo and this is a pic he took of himself after laughing so hard he cried:

Now I'm laughing 'till I'm crying! You're too much Nook. Really though, it has them. Brings to mind a few great jokes but as this is a family friendly board I'll have to save them.

So a lump an inch high with balls dangling... You know it's ok to love your tank... it's not ok however to LOVE your tank :)

Now that, would make for a great signature line:lol:

I have to see if I can get more pics of them or dig up an old one, but a while back I had a similar thing in my tankexcept in was green balls on it not orange. WWM identified it as a cup coral, and said that it would not last very long in the tank but as far as I know it is still there.

I think I have the same thing on one of my rocks . Its orange and has white hairs coming out of it . I will take a pic tonight .

But I don't know what it is either I was thinking sponge .

I'm pretty sure it's a sponge but, and not to give Nook anymore ammo but, the lump itself is white/opaque the threads are almost invisable and the the orange balls float at the end of the threads. I have never seen anything like it before in any tanks or when I was diving. I will try again to get a picture but it's hard to get due to the location and my crappy camera. Thanks John.
