Need help identifying what is ailing my Blue-spotted Jawfish. a few weeks ago his (assuming it's a 'He') dorsal and anal (long bottom fin) fins began to look like they had been picked on, about two weeks ago, he began to develop and then over time he developed what looks like bulbous sacks all along his dorsal fin. He does seem to have translucent splotches on his body, I wouldn't say 'white', so not sure if this is the dreaded blue-spotted jawfish disease; it certainly isn't brooklynella, or he would have died weeks ago. a few more details:
- I've had him over three months
- 75 gallon tank, 10+ gal sump
- Tank has been up for over 2.5 years
- salt is at 1.025
- temps: were 76-77, a week ago I reduced the temp to stay between 75-76
- over 20 tanks mates (all healthy)
- his activity level has never dropped
- UV sterilizer has been on the entire time he's been in the tank
See pics below to see the ugliness.
Does anyone have any idea what he's dealing with, and how I can cure him?
I haven't placed him in a quarantine tank because he's maintained his activity level, plus I've been traveling quite a bit lately and I need to keep him in the main tank with all its automation.
Help!!!
