Hey guys,
Anyone got any experience keeping Bumble bee shrimps (Gnathophyllum americanum)????

I am thinking of adding a few of these to a small 'shrimp only tank'. At the moment it houses a pair of peps, and a small group of sexy shrimps.

Anyone see a problem with this?
Can these shrimp be sexed? (do they have sexes?)

Could do with some quick replys guys as these shrimps very rarly pop up here in the U.K. So if i am to get em it better be quick!! but no pressure:confused:

Thanks alot for any help guys.

I don't have any experience with that species; however, many shrimp like to eat other shrimp.

For example, from time to time, people will post that their Peppermint just ate their Skunk Cleaner shrimp and visa versa (I had a Skunk that loved the taste of Peppermints).

Thus, before you combine different species, I would investigate whether or not there have been cases where one will eat the other.

Best of luck,

Roy

Thanks for the advise roy.

Shrimps are all quite cannabilistic. A cleaner will eat another cleaner while its molting, thats why they hide. Although i have found sexy shrimps to be the least cannabilistic of all shrimps i have kept.

Thanks for the input, the advise is appreciated.
