Help with Copper!!!!

So I was sifting threw the sand I am about to use on a new 75 gallon reef and I found a penny. I know copper is completely toxic to inverts so I was wondering if you guys think the sand would still be safe to use in the reef? I am almost positive the penny got in there when the sand was dry and in a bucket, AFTER I drained my last reef.

PLEASE HELP!!!

I wouldn't worry about it. When I had my 35gal reef running after 8 years, I found at least 10 pennies and a handful of change in the back of the rockwork. All the fish, inverts and coral were fine. Wouldn't have known otherwise.

No It will be fine, it will take very long for enough copper to leach from the penny to harm your tank.

There is also minimal amount of copper in a penny now a days.
