Want to get a BTA but not till tank has been running for over 6 month.

pair of clowns
yellow tang
sand sifting goby
blue tang
wrasse?
Butterflyfish? reef safe?
blenny?
dartfish?
dottybacks?
Marine Betta?
cowfish? they look cool =)
Don't really care for chromis or cardinals really they are okay!

How many? Multiple species? Anything on this list not to mix?

what are other options do I have someone suggested with livestock that lives bottom of the tank - middle - top - I'm new to saltwater I really like the look of tangs & angels but they will eat coral?

what options do I have? what could be my show fish the blue tang?

Thanks,

Tangs are reef safe; however angels are a mixed bag. I personally will not add an angel to my tank as long as it has corals in it after having one angel pick at and destroy a few of my corals. However, others have had no issue with their angels in a reef tank. So you never know what you get.

Additionally, on the blue tang, please be aware that it will likely outgrow the tank. While the length of the tank is fine at 72" I personally won't put a blue tang in anything less than a 200 gal since they get really big as adults. That's just my personal take though ... I know people have them in anywhere from 75 to 150 gal tanks.

I heard 75 is bare minimum and really want ~125gal tank that is 72" long and mine is 72" and 135 b.c its 24" tall 18" deep? To me its my favorite fish besides the clown, how long before you think it would grow out? I have my heart set on one :( Will the blue tang have any issues with the other fish on that list?

The recommended size for a Hippo Tang is 240 gallons and 8 ft. What will actually happen is the fish growth will be stunted. Wait until you have an appropriate tank.
