I need some advice on the battle with green algea. I run my halides 8 hours a day and all parameters are at zero. this stuff gets all over my glass and I clean it and by the end of the day its back. The bulbs are new. I have been wondering if there is something I can or add to stop this growth. It is driving me bananas !! I do have a UV sterilizer and it runs 24/7 It is a brand new bulb also. Thanks for any advice in advance.

PO4 and NO-3 levels would be my first choice of parameters to check. but if they are testing at zero, you might wanna get a second opinion from your LFS by having them test and see what results they are getting.
your kits could be old, even if you bought them yesterday. i dont recall ever seeing an expiration date on any of the numerous brands of kits i have used throughout the years.
good luck, and have a great weekend!

all of my test kits have been checked and are fine everything is still at zero. Thanks for the suggestion.

If it's just a light film, I wouldn't worry about it. It's seems to be pretty much impossible to completely eliminate; hence the popularity of mag-floats.
