help with ID please

I have been watching this grow for several monthes now and am really wondering what it is. can anyone tell me what this is? Sometimes I look at and wonder if an alien is about to pop out into my tank I really just want to know if it is something bad that I need to get rid of. Thank you all for any help

its a macro algae.. I believe its neomeris ? I don't know exact spelling

I think you're correct. A qiuck google search on "neomeris" brings up a lots of info. most of what I read says it's "reef safe" and desireable.

So the next question is should I keep it? does anyone have any experiance with it?

On second thought I did some more reading on RC. I am going to remove this, it looks like others have waged some prety wicked battles with this stuff. one even refered to it as "pure evil". Thank you for the quick reply.
