I am very new to aquariums and Reef tanks.

I had a neighbor move and give us a 38 gallon Reef tank.

after the move the this sprouted out of the live rock.

It is growing rapidly and I am curious if I shoud remove it.

it looks like you have a curly cue anenome and you can remove it, or not. They are not as prolific as aiptaisa anenomes but can still readily reproduce. It is up to you.

Yep it is up to you. But if it was my tank I would remove before it multiplies and sting my corals.

they are aiptasia cousins and it will probably burn back an area for itself and that's it. they don't move much, but they can bud off little ones so watch for those if you keep it.

Although, you could also look at it as "mother nature's electric fence" regarding keeping that GSP in line. :D
