My little onyx clown has not been eatting and has now developed white marks on it's side. I have moved him into his own tank that I set up tonight. Any ideas on this.

I think it may brooklynella. Is the skin starting to peel or slough off? You can Google "marine brooklynella" and compare. If so, all fish that were in the DT with this fish need treatment. Brooklynella is common in wild-caught clowns and very contagious and deadly. The only cure I know of is Formalin or a product containing formalin. I assume this fish wasn't quarantined before putting him in the main tank?

He was not, He was put right into my tank. He di not have any signs any issues when I got him, The other clwn that I got with this one seems to be trying to prove to the more dominant one as it has keep picking on this one. non stop. Only in the last few day has any of the markings shown up. I wasnt sure it it was from being picked on by the other clown or if it was some type of sickness.

Google "marine brooklynella" and see if this makes sense to you. I hope this isn't brook; but it sure looks like it and the symptoms are there. Brook is very aggressive and you'll know soon if that's what it is. Watch other fish for any signs and be ready to treat with a med that contains formalin. A QT should be used with all new fish, regardless of how they appear.

As far as the symptoms that it says that they will have from brook:
-he is not scraping against anything
-he has been breathing normal, does not look like he is strugling for air
-I do not see any signs of mucus, the white seems more like a mark or scar if you will.
-He did not eat last night when I feed brine shrimp, today at lunch I went home and fed him some spec. pellets and he was eating those.
-He is not hanging out by the top of the water, he is swimming more now in my hospital tank then he was in my DT since he does not have one of his RBTA to hang out in.

When he was in my DT he should hang out in my RBTA all day long, a lot of the time he would just sit on it and not swim. My other clown would then try and display its domance on this one and pick on it unit this stick one would lay on its side and and just lay there, the other would then let up and leave it alone.

Does this still sound like Brook? If so I am going to start to treat for it as so as I get home.

I wonder if you got two females or one turned into a female shortly after. Clownfish bicker, but I don't think non stop. I don't know enough to say one way or another. Can you describe the marks any more than you have...I know getting a good picture is tough!! grr...

I have tired and tried to get a good picture, I was going to take a video with my phone but I dont know how to upload it. To me the seem like breaks in the black and white coloring and you can see orange under them but then there is white marks on the black.

here is more pictures I tried to take today. on the back black stripe you can kinda see the orange coming through.

Can this all be from Stress?

Good! May just be some stress-related discoloration that many fish develop. It usually goes away as they settle in. There will be constant minor squabbles between the two clowns until they form a bonded pair and the female (the bigger one) will always let him know who's in charge.

I guess for now I will keep him in his own tank to let him have a rest, see if he starts to heal up and get his color back. After a week vacation if all looks good I will put him back into the DT. Thank you very much for your help.
