ok when i first bought it, it was out and looking realy nice. but i noticed when the lfs guy was taking him off the pvc piece it was attached to the pvc and i think the guy hurt the foot of him. now that he has been in my tank for a few days now his mantle has not extended at all but the first day. i was woundering where it should be placed in the tank. i have an 8 bulb t-5 tek light and i also have been have a crocea for 4 months under these lights and he is happy has heck. the maxima is in the sand right now, should i move him up or leave him.

Same place as the crocea should be fine. They have similar light demands. Also it is likely that it foot could be damaged. Could be fatal. I would complain to the LFS. They should never rip or tear the foot. They should cut it with a sharp razor blade or attach it to a small rock.

my clam ended up die after taking it out i noticed that there was no foot at all. so the guy that help us rip it right out of it when he took it out of the tank

Sounds about right. I would talk to the LFS about it.

yea i talked to them and they said they usualy dont do returns after 24 hours but becuase that kid was not supose to be touching any live stock becuase he is new that they will give me a credit. to get another one they told me to bring a water sample though wich i laughed when they told me that becuase there is nothing wrong with my tank at all and i have another clam in my tank and my readings are

ph:8.2
ammonia:0ppm
nitrite:0ppm
nitrate:0ppm
phosphate:0ppm
calcium:460
mag:1350
alk:9
salinity:1.025

so come on it was not my tank i keep on my tank very well.

Those numbers are spot on. I say dont employee people that have no clue on what to do with their job. I hope you get a very nice clam and good luck.
