hey guys i am in the process of up dating my lighting and i want to know what you guys think of this idea.
i have a 180 gal tank its a standard 72 long.
i want to do 3x Hamilton Cayman 250 Watt Sun Reflector
the issue i am having is i dont want to use vhos or t-5 for actinic i would like to only have the mh and leds so i need to know which leds will provide coral stimulation before the MH turn on. i would like to keep every thing under 1k if possible.
i am currently a running a old MH VHOt-12 combo with Galaxy electronic ballast. i am at $344 with the Hamilton's. i was looking at the Ecoxotic PAR38 LED Aquarium Lamp for actinic but i dont think i could place them in the right position due to the other fixtures. i have also considered Ecoxotic 12.5 Inch Stunner 6 watt LED Strip but i figured i would need 6 of them and still dont know if it would provide enough light.
any input would help and yes i am fairly set on MH and LED but will consider other options i have looked at the MH T-5 combos but the MH seem restricted as far as how much light they will put off.
