Help with New Sapphire Skimmer AP24

I just received my sapphire skimmer today for my AP24..
Well first off.. I'm happy that it finally arrived.. I ordered it last friday and paid extra $ for priority shipping.. 8 days later.. It arrives..
But thats another story..

I set it up in my tank, and for some reason its not shooting any bubbles into the skimmer.. just water.. I checked the air hose and made sure it was tight and all.. Is this because of the break in period or what? Someone let me know what I should do..

Also.. now that the skimmer is in there, I had to remove my sponges and ceramic rings.. what does everyone use for filtration methods with the sapphire skimmer in there?

i have the same skimmer. you need to set the pump on the third flow
setting. then you need to unplug and plug it back in a few times till it starts pulling a good amount of air. for it to pull a good ventri the impeller needs to be spinning counter clockwise thats the reason for unpluging and plugin method. these skimmer work really good after broke in and put out no micro bubble back into the tank. my skimmer pulls half a cup of dark skim everyday. for filtration media i have 2 bags on chemi-pure in my second chamber.

what do you use to catch debris? any floss or anything?

its on the highest setting.. which is the 3rd on my pump..
and i tried turning it off and on a few times, still no bubbles.

no i dont use floss. there is 4 settings on the pumps but the switch is very sensitive try lowering it down one more setting. also try blowing into the end of the air hoes it might have water in it. also how high is your water level?

we have bubbles!!
alright.. I finally got it working..
It was releasing soo many bubbles into my tank, so I took my blue sponges that came with the tank, and cut them to 2" wide and shoved them in the small part of the chamber next to the skimmer.. it helped quite a bit..
