Hi everyone,
I have a 300g vol mixed reef tank with only 2 perc clowns in it..looks very plain Jane to everyone so i decided to spice thing up with a yellow tang(hopefully hell eat some of the algae growing around some corals) and a flame angel..any advice(filtration, coral security, feeding, etc.) specifically for reef/fish combo aquariums is greatly appreciated because Ive never really mixed reef with much fish before because I always hear nitrate horror stories!.. thanks everyone

I think the lack of response is at least partly due to the fact that it's difficult to find a question in your thread. Your Tang and Flame Angel are good additions to a tank that size. Some Flame Angels become coral pickers, but many do not. I have one in a 40 Tall and she has never bothered any of my corals. If you can feed very small amounts several times a day, I have a theory that a full tummy prevents picking. You have room for all kinds of fish in a 300 gallon. I envy you. Remember that fish poop feeds your corals too, so having a sufficient number of fish is a good thing. Just do some research each time you add another fish to your system and you'll end up with a spectacular Display.

I would add the Flame then the Yellow Tang after. I have both in one of my reef tanks. Neither one mess with the corals.

ok!...thanks alot guys..i didnt know that the fish waste actually feeds the corals too!...and i did add the flame second..thanks for the help!
