I just bought a Oceanic biocube skimmer fror my ten gallon tank and am having trouble getting it to run right,if it is even capable of that.I've never used a skimmer before so I'm sure that Doesn't help either. Not sure what water level to set it at,i either have a cup full of water or no foam coming out the top.I've seen a few videos on youtube that appear to show them working but i Can't sem to get mine to.

Sorry to say that I have given up on this skimmer. I have tried many of the advertise mods(better air stone, longer cylinder, bigger air pump) and all have failed to provide a consistently working skimmer. I decided to go skimmerless on my 29g Biocube.

I just started one on my 14 g biocube. Seems to be working ok. I did set the bubble height higher than the instructions recommended. Maybe that will help you. I let the bubbles settle just below the cup collector rim - maybe 6-9 millimeters below the cup. That way it doesn't bubble over until it has some stuff in it.

I had the same problem with my biocube skimmer. I was either getting no bubbles at all (valve totally closed off) or it was bubbling over and filling the cup. There was no in-between, even when I positioned it higher in the water level. I actually had to replace the valve (cheap, was like 99 cents for a 2 pack) and thought I was going to make an extra cut in the line and use 2 valves to get better control, but just popping on a new valve worked.
It's decent for the price. I get scum and scummy water pretty regularly. After I do a really good cleaning and decent water change, the bubbles actually drop off for a day or so, but the eventually pick up again.
Once I changed the valve, I had to move it up and down in the water level a bit to get it right, but then it worked fine.
I'm actually upgrading the nano remora, but not because the biocube one wasn't working... It was a decent starter skimmer for a great price, but I'm ready for a really good one.

Thanks guys,i actually think i have it working decently. Now about every day i get a cup full of pretty nasty water, nothing like i have seen in real skimmers but the stuff I'm collecting is pretty nasty so it has to be doing something.

It usually takes a bit to get the skimmer going the first time, you will notice it works funny when you restart the pumps after a water change... It just a matter of gradually moving the valves.
