Help With Reeflink & Vortechs

Okay so I picked up a Reeflink once the pump support was added to set a schedule for my MP10s. Not having much luck. I installed the apps & upgraded the firmware in the pumps as the app suggested.

On the webpage - It recognizes and adds the pumps to my aquarium, but the only thing I can do with them is click "identify" and I get the swirling lights on the vortechs. Program & Layout are greyed out.

On the iPhone I got it to the circular control wheel & could change modes on the pumps, but they lost their slave relationship and weren't working together. Hitting program froze the app, selecting home off the menu crashed the app. The only other thing I could to was select which pump I wanted to control the intensity of.

After fighting with it most of the night I gave up and I reslaved the pumps. This required a reset, so I thought I'd try again after resetting the pumps - no change on the web page, but now the IOS app won't load. I reset my phone, uninstalled & reinstalled the application - it's stuck on the "EcoSmart Live" screen.

Then the blue ring on the ReefLink turned mostly green with a yellow & red led lit and stayed there. Nothing would talk to it, I had to run the setup on it & perform a factory reset. Now I can "see it" from the EcoSmart Live, but I still can't do anything with it.

Did I get a dud? Should I try to exchange this one or is there something dumb I'm missing?

Please help, loosing what little hair I have :)

As soon as I slaved the pumps again to go to bed, the iPone app loaded. Clicking on Home still crashes out the app tho.

I also had some issues with the app crashing when I clicked "home" when I had multiple groups.

But that was before I added all my Radions and VorTechs to the same group. It didn't seem to like having multiple groups of devices.

How many groups of devices do you have?

My app actually defaults to the home screen now when I have only one group of devices.

Hmmm. I'm not sure then.

Only other thing I would try troubleshooting is in the Settings of your iPhone. You should see settings for the EcoSmart live app. A setting for "always show home screen"

Mine is set to off. Not sure if it matters. Just trying to help. Maybe try toggling that on/off and killing the app, trying again.

Otherwise just call EcoTech's 1800#. They are very helpful.

Tried, seems I work the same hours their tech support is open. I'm off Friday, if I can't figure it out by then I'll call them.

Haven't tried this yet, but here's the e-mail I received back from EcoTech - might save some others some grief:

The update is only available for the Iphone, to set a master and slave relationship you must use your app.
1) Click the 3 lines on the App, top left corner.
2) Click Schedule.
3) Pick the mode you want, then click Slave and verify that you want it sync or anti-sync.
We don't have the it available for the P.C or Android yet. It will be released shortly.
Don't forget once u set the schedule you want, you must click the icon with the little square with the up arrow to program it.

Hopefully I can also specify which pumps are on opposing walls, back walls, etc.

Cheers!

Have you tried the above steps? If you still can't get the iPhone app to open or successfully use the home button, please send me a private message with your ESL account information so we can take a look on the backend to make sure everything is correct.
