Hello All,
I have been having trouble with my clownfish. He has been in my tank for 4 years and happily hosting a duncan. I recently dropped him off at a fish store where he was kept in a copper QT system because I was going on vacation for a week. I bought him back and now he hasn't eaten in a week and is breathing heavily.
I started treating him with PraziPro on the 4th day I bought him back, but it has been 3 days since the treatment started and he still hasn't eaten anything.
1. How old is this aquarium?
4 years old
2. If less than six months old, what is ammonia level?
0ppm
3. What is SG of this aquarium? How measured?
1.025 - Measured with refractometer calibrated with solution.
4. When was the last fish added to this aquarium?
5. Was it quarantined? If so, how? And how long? Was it prophylactically treated? How?
No
6. If you are using a copper based medication, which one? How often do you measure level? When?
No.
7. If you are using hyposalinity, how did you calibrate your refractometer?
No.
8. Please describe in detail, the appearance of the fish? If there is one or more pimples, are they lumpy? What color?
Seems to have a wound above the upper lip (See pictures), I am not sure when the injury happened. His Eyes look a little glassy. Color seems normal. Fins are clamped but his gills are expanded like he is gasping for air.
I noticed white stringy poop as well.
There are no spots like ich. Couldn't spot mucus or extra slime being generated.
9. Please describe the behavior of the fish as best you can. Is it acting reclusive? Is it always up towards the top of the aquarium? Is it avoiding light? How active is the fish?
Swims in one location and will occasionally shiver like he wants to shake something off his body.
Does not avoid light and seems to be swimming into the current. Breathing is heavy.
Usually it would bite me if I put my hand into the tank to protect his territory, but now seems to either be afraid of my hand or simply not interested.
He hasn't been hosting the Duncan either.
10. Is the fish eating? What?
Fish has not been eating and hasn't eaten in a week. Have tried mysis, brine and pellet food soaked in garlic extract.
Attached are some pictures that shows the wound:
