Help with snowflake

I have had this snowflake eel for over a year now and here recently he just quit eating. Before he would eat anything that fell in the tank. I've fed silversides, squid, clam, and krill. He ate and loved every meal but now he wnt touch anything. What can I do to get him eating again?

I've had my SFE for 2 years now, he's probably full grown (24"), and he goes on hunger strikes every once in a while where he may not eat for a week or two but when he's hungry he will eat. If you see him swimming around after the lights go off he's probably looking for food and you could try to feed him then or you could try soaking the food in garlic to see if it helps.

Overall its probably not something that you need to worry too much about.

Thanks for the input. I have tried the garlic but he doesn't even come around it even back when e was eating good he had nothing to do with garlic. He swims around alot, very healthy looking. Maybe he will come out of it. I guess time will tell.

It's not unusual for snowflake and zebra eels to go off food periodically. The only other suggestion I have is to check your water quality, in case that is a factor.

when my snowflake stops eating for a couple weeks a couple pieces of squid every few days usually get it back to eating everything i put in the tank.

My barred eel just got done with month and half hunger strike. He had me worried for a bit but then he started eating again. Usually a couple of weeks i wouldnt worry to much.

Mine does the same thing. Will eat daily for awhile, and then won't eat for a month. I feed him when he comes out.

It does seem like there is a corralation between water temps and eating habits with the snowflake eels. When summer came and the water temp went up, my snowflake started eating like crazy.
