helpp on my stand

this is 3 feet high and 50 inchs long
it holds my 75 gallon tank, there is 4 2x4's on each corner 1 in the center front and 2 more in the back, they all are braced with metal 90 degree braces,
do you thin this is strong enough? or should i add 2 more 2x4s in the front.

can you get some shots of the inside to show where the 2x4s are together. The horizontal ones should be on top of the vertical ones to support the weight.

That is fine... probably way more than fine, you could probably put 5 more tanks on there.

I dont think you need any more 2x4s but if it were me I would skin the back with plywood to give it racking strength. It wouldnt even need to cover the whole back. You could the bottom 1/2 as long as you fastened it well to the bottom and sides.
The metal brackets do help but I would be a little concerned about if someone leaned or put a lot of pressure on it from the top end of the tank.

My only concern is the metal brackets as well. I would have used long deck screws. The problem with the brackets is you don't get the friction holding it together like you would with screws pushing the wood together. I don't remember what woodworkers call it. Maybe someone will chime in that knows something The problem is not bearing the weight but if someone were to bump or fall into it hard it may buckle. Skinning the back would help with that as well. Nice job on the stand it looks good.

Those Metal brackets hold house rafters so they'll hold that tank no problem, just make sure to paint/ seal the whole inside so no moisture gets to it. Your stand looks great.

Im sure that he is done... I wouldnt recommend painting it now since you are already set up with water running and all and I think that you will be fine without a skin on the back. Next time before you put your tank on a stand that you built make sure to paint the inside and skin the back...
