Heniochus in QT

Hey everyone,

I have checked out all of the threads regarding fish diseases, and the one that is stickied at the top of the page requires the use of the search function (I know, I'll get to that later.)

Anyways, I have two Heniochus in QT right now with 1.009 salinity. One of them has white, cotton like patches on it's side fins. I am pretty certain that it is not marine ich; the spots are much bigger than ich and are only on the fins. After taking over 20 pictures to assist with this, I gave up as none of them would have been useful.

The other one seems to be doing fine. Both are eating well and show no signs of any illness. From what I have gathered, fungal infections are quite rare. If it is indeed ich, it will be short lived no doubt. If anyone can offer any suggestions as to what it might be, or can direct me to a sight with many pictures, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!!

Thanks for the pics. I think you hit the nail on the head as well. Not only does Lymphocystis look like what my fish has, but the pictures show the same fish. Time to do some research on how to get rid of it.

Thanks again!!

Update: Looks like I am doing all that I can at the moment; good water quality, variety of foods soaked in VitaChem and some patience. Again, it doesn't seem to be affecting the fish in the least. Yet another reason why all fish get quarantined.
