Hermit Crabs

Anyone know the closest place to catch wild hermit crabs? they are so expensive.. and i need like 50+

Go the the closest beach, near an inlet, and you will find 100's of them, but they are temperate zoned (NJ, DE, MD), and don't last real long in tropical tanks.
CLosest for reef hermits would be Florida.

Tons in Indian River Inlet, just catch a bunch of seaweed, and shake.

so if do catch them locally will they live longer if i do some sort of long period acclimation?
