Hermit suggestions???

Albatross hermit crab is cool, but seems to need a cone shell.
I'm not sure I would trust the argus hermit... :worried:
Dwarf banded I've seen before, it's also called a harlequin hermit.
The black eye hermit looks huge!
C. Taenatus (yellow line hermit crab) I've actually caught in the wild!
D. Guttatus (blue spot hermit crab) gets really big!
The dwarf zebra is one of my favs!
The guam hermit looks like a land hermit...
The hairy yellow hermit grows massive!
C. Morgani (lava hermit crab) is one of my fav. hermits!
Anemone hermit crabs are all not reef safe.
The Laurent's hermit crab is very cool looking!
Staghorn hermits are cool but need a staghorn coral shell and are difficult to care for.
The stars and stripes hermit is neat looking but not sure of it's needs?
Couldn't find anything about the painted hermit crab.
The seurat's hermit looks a lot like the zebra hermit!
Couldn't find anything about the stone and wide hand hermit crabs either.

Why would a hermit care what shell it's in? They usually just want shells that fit, right? It's not like they inspect the outside... As far as I'm aware.

Some hermit crabs do have a preference of shell they like. Most of the time it's what's avialible to them.. or their shape better fits the shell they're usually in.

For example staghorn hermits better suit their coral shells.. and I never seen a halloween hermit crab not in a cone shell.

Ah, I see. Makes sense.
Though I do have what appears to be a halloween hermit (legs are striped purplish-black and goldish-orange) in a much simpler shell, and I was told by one of the people at the fish store that they seem to prefer nerite snail shells and similarly shaped ones. The store is trustworthy, and this guy in particular knows what he's talking about.

Betta, orange knuckle hermit crab?

I believe the reason why halloween hermit prefer these shells is because of the animal that previously lived in it. Cone snails are one of the most venomous animals on the planet and it would seem wise to disguise as one to strike fear in potentional predators.
