I have a blue leg and a red legged hermit. Blue is active , red is slow. Has them for 2 wks....

Now red is missing and blue is inactive but alive. Whats wrong ? Checked ANN.

Still same situation ....pls advice...thx

Update:

Red is active and blue legged hermit is not moving for 2 days....occasionally moves claws.
I put it upside down, still hasnt turned yet....Is this common , is it gonna die or just some mid life crisis?

Someone pls reply :) THANKS

you only have 1 of each of these crabs? i would expect some loss on these from time to time but having a 55 gal myself, i think have a total of about 20 crabs wandering around my tank.

Do you have any algae growing on your rocks? If the tank is too clean they might be starving and need a little extra food like a piece of an algae wafer or a pellet or two.

Crabs will often sit around forever not doing anything. Our red legged crab can sit in one spot for hours at a time.

Missing crabs are usually hiding so they can molt.

Sometimes hermits will kill each other for shells or even for no real good reason.
