Hi my name is TJ. I am a seahorse addict. It's been two weeks since my last seahorse (trade actually). I currently have 1 tank running. However, 1 is cycling and I have basically 3 builds going on a 1 time. I have converted my library/tv room into a seahorse room. Here are my tanks and their progress. Oh I've been doing seahorses roughly a year now. All captive bred. I have 4 Erectus, 3 Reidi's, 3 Kuda's and 2 male tiger tails. I'm hoping to add Hybrids and Barbouri next. Not my favorite thing to do but they are in one tank. Yes I understand the diseases they may carry but I've made the conscious decision that because they are all captive bred, they can temporarily get housed here. I've gone through ocean riders lessons and have my certificate of completion.

Now my tanks. They are all BB.

1. 100 gallon acrylic blue back 40 gallon sump. I've used colored PVC pipes, overflow was man made and this is what it looked like while I was plumbing it. I'm actually turning it into a baby station with 4 emerged goldfish bowls (each different colors red, yellow, purple, orange) some airlines, plastic mesh nets, and lots of Copepods establishing in the tank. Here is the inception of the tank. Will provide more pictures of the result later!

2. 120 (1) this is the tank that's established. But currently holding all the ponies. It holds a 40 gallon sump. It houses gorgonians currently and snails as my cuc. Aquascaping is a blah because they are only going to be here for another week. The Barbouri's will be homed here.

3. 120 (2) and 40 gallon sump. It hasn't been started, just waiting around, but this week it's getting set up. Will provide pics later on this one. Eventually my Kuda's will have this tank.

4. 180 lee mar with 55 gallon sump. Waiting on this one for last. The erectus, reidi and hybrids will be housed in here.

5. 56 gallon. This tank is still cycling. My tiger tails will go here.

6. 30 gallon frag tank. I grow macro in this one. Houses damsels..

7. 15 gallon tank where I grow opae. (Hawaiian red shrimp)!

Oh and I use a feeding station or they eat out of my hand.

Anyhow that's a little about me...

I am excited to learn more about likeminded seahorse addicts.. Happy Monday!

Nice pics. Can you share pics of the other seahorses?
Lots of stuff going on in your home.
Thanks again for sharing and welcome.

Well you really are an addict, LOL. Looks like you have nice set ups. I too have been keeping seahorses about a year and I also was certified through Ocean Rider. Currently I have a mated pair of H erectus. They had fry last winter but when they were raised to maturity I re-homed them.

That's awesome!!! I'm expecting mine within the week!

TJ, I am just curious, is the colored pvc to encourage the seahorses to color up or is there another purpose?

Wow, those are beautiful ponies. I wished I could have a herd like that but I know my limits and one tank is it for me. It must really be cool though seeing the different personalities of each individual pony.
